  1. Lachlan that sure is a big container of hail that you and your brothers have collected. Was the hail loud on your roof?? I bet that it felt really cold. How long did all of that hail take to melt? What makes rain turn into hail I wonder? Maybe that is something you could find out and tell me as I would love to know.

  2. Wow Lochlan that is a lot of hail. We had some hail at Lake Kaniere too but not as much as that. Was it fun smashing the hail cube?

  3. Wow Lachlan, that really is a great big piece of hail! How did you make all the hail you collected in to that shape? My hands would have been freezing after touching all of that cold ice. I heard the hail on my iron roof. It was so loud it woke me up. Did you hear it in the middle of the night? I wonder how cold it has to get before it stops being hail and then becomes snow? That would be interesting to find that out and let others know.

  4. Kia ora Lochlan,
That pile of hail is incredible, and I cannot believe it was able to keep its shape after being brought inside. I really like hail storms, especially when you can go outside after they’re finished and have a ‘snow fight’ with the leftover hail!
Have you ever had a ‘snow’ fight with hail?
Did you play in the hail once the storm was finished?
Once you collected the hail, did you store it in a container?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
I noticed in the first image you are holding something blue. What exactly are you holding, and what were you doing with it?
I also noticed that in the second image there is no hail on the ground. How long did you keep the hail before you started smashing it?
    Keep up the great blogging!
