ANZAC DAY

ANZAC DAY

These are two things that I have worked on with my brothers this week for ANZAC.
The first thing is a poster about ANZAC.  We found out the dates of the two world wars. WWI started in Galipolli 1915 and ended in 1918.  WWII started in Germany 1939 and ended in 1945.
ANZAC stands for Austrailian and New Zealand Army Corps. Jordan drew some red poppies which are symbols of war rememberance 😢😢. Jordan also drew some ANZAC biscuits.  The ANZAC biscuits were made for the soldiers in  WWI by the women at home🏡and sent by boat.

The second thing we did was use Lego to make an ANZAC scene.  We built red poppies and I built a grave stone.

  2. You have been really busy working with your brothers on the ANZAC tasks. I really like the poppies you have built from lego. And you have done a bit of research for your poster. Where did you get your information from?

  3. Wow Lochlan,it looks like there has been a lot of learning going on in your house! You have learnt some very important facts. I love your Lego poppies and headstone. I have seen many different poppies that people have made, but never a Lego one - that makes it very cool! Have you been to the ANZAC service in Hokitika, where the Returned Servicemen march to the town clock before?

  4. Kia ora Lochlan,
Wow, you have done an outstanding job creating this blogpost about ANZAC day! I am amazed at the amount of information you have included in this post, and think that the photos of both the poster and lego scene you included are fantastic!
I noticed on your poster how there is a recipe for ANZAC biscuits. ANZAC biscuits are one of my favourite baked goods to both cook and eat!
They are super simple to make, require the most basic ingredients, and are absolutely delicious to have with a cup of tea.
Have you ever baked ANZAC biscuits before? If so, when?
I also noticed that on your lego scene the first poppy looks different to the other two.
Did you make this poppy different from the other ones?
If so, what did you do differently?
It is so sad to think about all of the people who lost their lives in the battle, however it is small tributes like these which help keep the memories alive.
You should be exceedingly proud of your efforts! Keep up the great work!
    Nga mihi
